Great Polar - White recap Sept. 26, 2012
Moose Lake/Willow River extended the longest winning streak in Great Polar - White this week by beating Eveleth-Gilbert, 34-20. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Rebels.
Esko's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Marc Peterson threw for 71 yards and Aaron Olson had 41 yards receiving. On the ground Riley Mudek chipped in 52 yards. Cal Beaudot helped Esko's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
Ryan Schramm made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eskomos bested Two Harbors. The 6-foot-2 freshman racked up one sack.
Esko's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eskomos feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Peterson has thrown for 336 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Ryan Holte has seven catches for 99 yards. Mudek leads the league in rushing with 431 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Agates take on Moose Lake/Willow River. Two Harbors is currently in fifth, while David Louzek's team is in first.
Esko led Great Polar - White in scoring this week after putting up 36 points on Tom Nelson's team. Mudek in the win.
