Oak Park is 1-9 against Camarillo since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. At the plate, Henry Rizzotti and Tyler Kutsch did most of the damage at the plate: Rizzotti got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Kutsch got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Kutsch has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Oak Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Camarillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-1 to Royal.
Braden Huber was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Grant Tsuji made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Oak Park's victory bumped their record up to 8-13-1. As for Camarillo, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.
