Baseball Recap: Hapeville Charter Has No Trouble Against Creekside

Hapeville Charter lost to Creekside back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Hapeville Charter Hornets were the clear victor by a 15-7 margin over the Creekside Seminoles. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

S Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he's launched this season.

In other batting news, D Weaver was a standout: he scored a run and stole six bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was A George, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Hapeville Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matches.

Hapeville Charter's record now sits at 4-1. As for Creekside, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hapeville Charter will square off against Mays at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Creekside, they will take on Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on March 5th.
