The Chestnut Ridge Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Bishop McCort 66-28. Chestnut Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  44-20.
 Defeat or not, Chestnut Ridge got some senior leadership from  Isabella Hillegass and  Ashlie Weaver.  Hillegass  scored eight points along with eight  rebounds and two  steals, while  Weaver.  scored 13 points along with six  rebounds. Hillegass hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
 Chestnut Ridge has  been struggling recently, as they've  lost six of their last eight contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Bishop McCort, the  win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chestnut Ridge will  challenge Philipsburg-Osceola at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Philipsburg-Osceola is on  a three-game streak of home losses, Chestnut Ridge a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Bishop McCort on the road again  on Friday and play against Tyrone at 7:15  p.m.  on January 19th. Tyrone will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while Bishop McCort is ranked 17th).
