Baseball Game Preview: Dodge County Indians vs. Northeast Raiders

Dodge County is a perfect 10-0 against Northeast since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will square off against the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Northeast took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dodge County, who comes in off a win.

Dodge County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Jefferson County 7-0. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Karson Jones was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Dodge County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-12 when he doesn't). Chris Johnson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Northeast fell victim to Bleckley County and their airtight pitching crew last Friday. They lost 14-0 to the Royals. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Dodge County, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dodge County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Northeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Dodge County took their victory against Northeast in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 17-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
