The Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Philipsburg-Osceola, posting a 70-15 win on the road. Hollidaysburg's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khendyl Sharrer, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Emily Gustkey was another key contributor, scoring three points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Philipsburg-Osceola struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Hollidaysburg's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.33 points. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hollidaysburg will be home for the holidays to greet Clearfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clearfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Hollidaysburg is ranked 26th). Philipsburg-Osceola will be home for the holidays to greet Bald Eagle Area at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bald Eagle Area comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
