Leif Jackson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time he's pitched this season. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI.
Jackson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jerome Swehla, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI. Another was Ty Trabucco, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Laytonville scored the most runs they've had this season last Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Rio Lindo Adventist, falling 13-3.
