Softball Recap: Evans Extends Winning Streak to Two

While Evans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let the Thomson Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Leila Salmond was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. Sophia Perez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Evans and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Thomson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Evans is taking a road trip to challenge Grovetown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thomson, they will host Josey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
