New Mexico School for the Deaf gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Floyd Broncos 60-6. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Roadrunners just coasted through the last quarter.
New Mexico School for the Deaf's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Santiago Lopez, who picked up 67 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 35 yards and two TDs. That's the most rushing touchdowns Lopez has posted since back in August of 2024. Alex Gonzalez-Lopez did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 173 receiving yards.
