The Montpelier Solons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 83-75 to Burlington. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (65), Montpelier still had to take the loss.
Montpelier lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Clayton Foster, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foster has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Lilly, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Montpelier has fallen quite a ways from their 21-3 record last season and are now at 0-3. As for Burlington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Montpelier will head out on the road to face off against Lamoille at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burlington will be home for the holidays to greet South Burlington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
