Perry (Gilbert, Ariz.) completed historic runs to winning their fourth consecutive state championships in the highest classification of their states, becoming the 53rd and 54th teams to accomplish that feat.
Koa Peat played through a broken shooting hand in the state semifinals and title game, producing a team-high 20 points for Perry in a 63-44 win over
Sunnyslope (Phoenix) in Arizona's Open Division title game.
Cameron Boozer paced Columbus with 20 points and nine rebounds in a blowout of
Windermere that saw a running clock in the third and fourth quarters.
A pair of upsets in the Lone Star State saw previous No. 4
Brennan (San Antonio) and No. 8
Allen go down in the state semifinals while newly-minted No. 15
Duncanville claimed its third state championship since 2019.
In Georgia,
Wheeler (Marietta) captured the Class AAAAAA state championship by outlasting
Newton (Covington) in the title game.
