After a string of eight wins, The Calvert Senecas''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 19-7 to Hopewell-Loudon. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calvert in their matchups with Hopewell-Loudon: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hopewell-Loudon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blake Berrier, who picked up 160 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Calvert's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvert will take on Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Montpelier at 7:00 p.m. Montpelier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 520th, while Hopewell-Loudon is ranked 174th).
