The Lake Central Indians are ranked highly in their home state, and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Loyola Academy Ramblers. Lake Central fell 51-39 to Loyola Academy. Lake Central's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aniyah Bishop, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Bishop posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Krygier, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Loyola Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 22-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Central will take on Valparaiso at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Loyola Academy, they will be playing at home against Mother McAuley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mother McAuley is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
