The Surry Central Golden Eagles pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against South Stokes, falling 88-58. Surry Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Stokes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2018.
When it comes to explaining why Surry Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luizao Sanchez. Despite the final result, he scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Tripp McMillen, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.
Surry Central has fallen quite a ways from their 19-8 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for South Stokes, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Surry Central will be playing at home against Alleghany at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. South Stokes won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McMichael at 8:00 p.m. on November 29th.
