Thornton was dealt a 84-25 loss at the hands of Overland on Friday. Thornton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.
My'la Hernandez Gutierrez was Thornton's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Julionna Sandoval held things down on the boards with four rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with five assists.
Thornton's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Overland, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thornton will take on Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Overland, they will head out on the road to challenge Mullen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
