It was a good run, but The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Land O' Lakes by a score of 37-35. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Wiregrass Ranch came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Land O' Lakes is ranked 281st).
Fred Adams and Luke Knight certainly did their beston Friday to try and avoid the loss. Adams picked up 148 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Knight threw for 400 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. Adams' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Isaiah Riggins also helped out as he racked up 158 receiving yards.
Wiregrass Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Land O' Lakes, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Wiregrass Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against The Villages Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Villages Charter will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Land O' Lakes, they will head out on the road to face off against Pasco at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
