The Cowanesque Valley Indians's road trip will continue as they head out to face the North Penn-Liberty Mountie at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Cowanesque Valley suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 59-35 loss at the hands of Williamson. While losing is never fun, Cowanesque Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 621st, while Williamson is ranked 255th).
Meanwhile, North Penn-Liberty's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 22-21 to North Penn-Mansfield. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North Penn-Liberty has scored all season.
Cowanesque Valley dropped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for North Penn-Liberty, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Cowanesque Valley came up short against North Penn-Liberty in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 37-28. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Penn-Liberty's Haley Litzelman, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Now that Cowanesque Valley knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
