The Whitney Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Keene Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Whitney suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Clifton 61-15.
Meanwhile, Keene came up short against Grandview on Friday and fell 43-34. While losing is never fun, Keene can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 667th, while Grandview is ranked 314th).
Whitney bumped their record down to 7-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Keene, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
Whitney didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Keene when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win. Does Whitney have another victory up their sleeve, or will Keene turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
