The Kiski Area Cavaliers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Baldwin Highlanders at 2:45 p.m. on December 29th. Kiski Area will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Kiski Area was able to grind out a solid victory over Neighborhood Academy, taking the game 53-45. Given Kiski Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Neighborhood Academy is ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Baldwin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against Taylor Allderdice by a score of 76-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kiski Area's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Baldwin, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Kiski Area couldn't quite finish off Baldwin when the teams last played back in December of 2016 and fell 41-39. Can Kiski Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
