The Sparta Academy Warriors put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Monroe Academy by a score of 41-32. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Sparta Academy has scored all year.
Sparta Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamie Ellissa Deason out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Johnson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
Sparta Academy's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Monroe Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Sparta Academy will head out on the road to face off against Hooper Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morgan Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
