The Holdrege Dusters suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Minden 57-28. Holdrege has struggled against Minden recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Minden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mattie Kamery led the charge by scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Kamery has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. Kinsie Land was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Holdrege's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Minden, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holdrege will challenge Broken Bow at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Broken Bow will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Minden will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cozad on February 2nd.
