Baseball Recap: Turlock Christian Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Turlock Christian waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the River Islands Riptide 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Turlock Christian got a big performance out of Jake Dein, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Miller, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Turlock Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Turlock Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for River Islands, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turlock Christian will venture away from home to challenge Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for River Islands, they will head out to square off against Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Riptide are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
