Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele has put together a tremendous senior season and led
Campbell (Ewa Beach) to a 49-43 comeback win over
Kapolei (Hawaii) to advance to the OIA Open Division championship game for the first time in 27 years. The Sabers erased a 36-14 halftime deficit. Sagapolutele threw for 473 yards and six touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. Up next is
Kahuku, who had an impressive 35-6 win over
Mililani (Hawaii) in the other semifinal.
In California, the Southern Section Division 1 bracket was released Sunday and both opening-round games are featured in this week's slate.

North Shore is on the short list of teams that have a path to finish the season at No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25. It starts with a big performance Friday against one of the best teams in Texas. The Mustangs got their best win of the season two weeks ago by beating No. 19 Atascocita 27-23. Summer Creek has scored at least 39 points in every game and is averaging 53.1 points per game. The Bulldogs have posted four shutouts and held six of nine opponents to seven points or less.

Expect another instant classic when these two square off Saturday. The Explorers snapped a five-game losing streak against the Hawks with a 35-34 quadruple-overtime win Oct. 5. St. Joe's Prep has won three in a row since that loss winning by an average margin of 28 points per game. This will be the 28th meeting since 2010 and the Hawks hold a 21-6 edge.

Both teams clinched a spot in the Open Division playoffs last week by advancing to the OIA championship game. These two played Oct. 19 and the Sabers won 21-13 in Fuiava's debut with the Red Raiders. He didn't start but played the majority of the game throwing for 174 yards and a score. In last week's 35-6 win over Mililani he completed 19 of 32 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns. Sagapolutele has put up big-time numbers throwing for 2,997 yards and 45 touchdowns in nine games. He enters Friday's showdown as the eighth-rated quarterback in the Class of 2025 according to 247Sports.

Servite started the season 6-0 but has dropped four straight heading into the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. Sierra Canyon's three losses have come against Trinity League opponents. The Trailblazers have won five in a row since a 33-26 loss against No. 16

Serra (Gardena, Calif.) last week to win the league title. They erased a 17-7 third-quarter deficit in that one with Young making the biggest play of the night with a 53-yard pick-six to shift momentum. The only other meeting between these two came in 2021 when

The last time Alexandria won nine games in a season was in 2019 when it went 10-2. The Trojans are trying to finish the regular season unbeaten for the first time in school history.

This one features the top two ranked teams in the state and the winner claims the 7A-Central Conference title. The last time Bryant didn't win a conference title was in 2018. Buck James left Bryant and took over as Conway's head coach in 2023 after leading the Hornets to an 80-9 record and five 7A state titles in seven seasons. He has led the Wampus Cats to a 19-2 record and a 7A semifinal appearance last season. Bryant has won 11 straight meetings and the last time Conway won was in 2014.

Santa Margarita was in danger of missing the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs but snapped its five-game losing streak with a dominant 44-8 win over Servite last week. The Eagles are a different team with Mosley and have gone 4-2 in games he has played. He has accounted for 819 total yards and 10 touchdowns. Smith made his debut last week and gives Gazzaniga another weapon on offense. The Sentinels are making their first appearance in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 bracket and have plenty of talent to make some noise on Friday.

All three of St. X's losses have come by one score as it enters Friday's matchup riding a four-game win streak. The Bombers have shutout three of their last four opponents and opened the Division I playoffs with a 41-0 win over
Milford. Herbstreit had one of his best games of the season completing 12 of 17 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns. Winton Woods' only loss came against
Anderson (Cincinnati) and it rolled to a 35-0 win over
Little Miami (Morrow) in the first round of the playoffs. This will be the first playoff meeting between the two since 1998 and first matchup since 2007.

Dutch Fork, the back-to-back 5A state champs, have won 16 games in a row as it closes out the regular season with the Region 4-5A title on the line. Irmo is coming off one of its best seasons in school history going 13-1 with a 4A state semifinal appearance. Last year was the first time they finished the regular season undefeated since 2002. They enter Friday's showdown 9-0 after making the jump back up to 5A for the first time since 2019. Dutch Fork has won the last six games in the series but the teams haven't played since 2019.
