The Carlisle Thundering Herd will head out on the road to square off against the Central Dauphin East Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carlisle is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Carlisle's game on Thursday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Cumberland Valley.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-21, which was the final score in Central Dauphin East's tilt against Susquehanna Township on Friday. While losing is never fun, Central Dauphin East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Susquehanna Township is ranked 57th).
Carlisle has not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Central Dauphin East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.
Carlisle beat Central Dauphin East 61-50 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carlisle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
