Westlake Charter has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the John Adams Academy Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. John Adams Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Westlake Charter, who comes in off a win.
Westlake Charter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 68-23 victory over Elite. Westlake Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 27 points or more this season.
Lena Tahod continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 steals. Amiliana Moore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, John Adams Academy had to suffer through a rough 61-29 loss at the hands of the Wildfires. While losing is never fun, John Adams Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1158th, while the Wildfires are ranked 576th).
Westlake Charter's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for John Adams Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Westlake Charter beat the Patriots 33-21 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westlake Charter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
