Football Recap: Central Christian Piles Up the Points Against St. Paul

Central Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the St. Paul Indians to the tune of 46-0. The 46-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Central Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Piercen Huff, who rushed for 167 yards and four TDs on only 12 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Huff a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Konnor Sullivan, who rushed for 105 yards and one score on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Central Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 220 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Central Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for St. Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Central Christian will face off against Argonia/Attica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Huff and Carson Vineyard. As for St. Paul, they will take on Axtell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
