The Esparto Spartans's 27-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against San Juan by a score of 49-40. Esparto's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Esparto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khalia Moore, who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. Jeriann Moore was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Esparto's win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9. As for San Juan, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-10.
