Marshall got themselves on the board against El Monte on Thursday, but El Monte never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Lions. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won nine in a row.

Ben Level looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trevor Lain, who scored two runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Adan Castro was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Monte only posted an OBP of .318.

Marshall's record now sits at 11-3-1. As for El Monte, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
