The Central Spartans's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southwest EC 65-21 at home. That 65-21 margin sets a new team best for Central this season.
Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Victoria Zamora led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya McClain, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Southwest EC, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will take on Imperial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Imperial is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Southwest EC, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. Calipatria's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Southwest EC's offense will have their work cut out for Southwest EC.
