While Newton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by an 11-5 margin over the Mary Persons Bulldogs on Saturday. The Rams' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Newton let Kris Ross and Dare'On Adkins run wild. Ross scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Adkins went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Ross also put up a double, which washis first of the season. Another player making a difference was Robert 38 Jackson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Newton pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Mary Persons, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Newton is taking a road trip to square off against Heritage at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Mary Persons, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Nassau at 7:00 p.m.
