Crest extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Cal Pass Jr.. The Crest Chargers greeted the New Year with with a 72-58 victory over the Asheville Cougars thanks in part to Pass Jr., who went 9 for 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Omari Faulkner, who posted five points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Cox, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Andre Thomas, who put up 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Crest pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Asheville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.

Crest will venture away from home to take on Huss at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Crest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Asheville, they will welcome A.C. Reynolds at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Asheville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.
