The Eastlake Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 52-30 margin over Santa Fe Christian. The victory was just what Eastlake needed coming off of a 62-29 loss in their prior contest.
Eastlake found their leader in underclassman Jordyn Worley, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Worley is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games she's played. Catrice Chan was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Santa Fe Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jennifer Stanion scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The game was Stanion's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alesea Haynes, who scored eight points.
Santa Fe Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eastlake racked up 11 assists.
Eastlake's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Santa Fe Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Eastlake will face off against O'Farrell Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. O'Farrell Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Santa Fe Christian is on the road again on Thursday and play against Chula Vista at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Malissa Mckoy and Piper Lenihan.
