Given Granada Hills Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Taft is ranked 727th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Granada Hills Charter to victory were Emma Perez and Brigita Bulotaite. Perez scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Bulotaite scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Bulotaite has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Artiga, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Granada Hills Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Taft, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Granada Hills Charter will be playing at home against Chatsworth at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Taft, they will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
