Vidalia Heritage Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Mt. Zion. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Pearson O'Neal looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Vidalia Heritage Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rocco Braddy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, David Emanuel Academy came into Monday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Jenkins County on Monday, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 21, 2024.
Tucker Free was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Free was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Clayton Hood was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Sailor Powell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
David Emanuel Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jenkins County only managed six hits.
David Emanuel Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Vidalia Heritage Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. Vidalia Heritage Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for David Emanuel Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Vidalia Heritage Academy continue to outrun the ball?
