 Despite the  defeat, Old Lyme had strong showings from  Maggie Thuma, who  had 15  digs and three  aces, and  Kaylyn Vernon, who  had 12  assists and nine  digs. Thuma is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's  played.
Meanwhile, Haddam-Killingworth came up short against  Coginchaug Regional on Wednesday, falling  3-0.
 Haddam-Killingworth took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-20,  25-22.
 Old Lyme's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Haddam-Killingworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.
 Old Lyme beat Haddam-Killingworth 3-1  in their previous meeting  back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
