Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Carver High School of Engineering & Science's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Carver High School of Engineering & Science's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They received a blow as they fell 46-32 to the Academy at Palumbo Griffin. Carver High School of Engineering & Science was not able to make up for their loss to Academy at Palumbo from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Desiray Zepp, who posted 14 points. Those 14 points gave Zepp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Brown, who scored 11 points.

Leading Academy at Palumbo to victory were Beatrix Kaeli and Aisha Muibi. Kaeli put up 13 points and five steals, while Muibi earned 17 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Naimah Hargrove was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Academy at Palumbo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-38 loss against Sun Valley on the 24th. As for Academy at Palumbo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 33-26 win against Bodine on the 24th.
