San Juan Hills has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the San Clemente Tritons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
San Juan Hills put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They really took it to Trabuco Hills for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-23 victory on the road. With San Juan Hills ahead 46-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
San Juan Hills relied on the efforts of Anna Shreeve, who scored 22 points along with nine steals and six rebounds, and Sydney Peterson, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peterson has scored all season. Aryanna Hudson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, San Clemente entered their tilt with Rancho Buena Vista with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. San Clemente strolled past Rancho Buena Vista with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 69-51. Given San Clemente's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Rancho Buena Vista is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
San Juan Hills has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for San Clemente, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
San Juan Hills didn't have too much breathing room in their game against San Clemente when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win.
