The Hoover Cardinals will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against the Orange Glen Patriots at 4:00  p.m. Hoover will be strutting in after a  victory while Orange Glen will be coming in after a  defeat.
 The matchup between Hoover and Rock Academy  on Monday hardly resembled the  3-1 effort from their previous meeting. Hoover sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  10-9  win over Rock Academy. Hoover's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Quincy Enyama-Turner made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). Enyama-Turner was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Jason Sanchez was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Lucian Hura, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Orange Glen came up short against El Cajon Valley on Monday and fell  8-3. Orange Glen has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Orange Glen saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Mannny LaChappa, who  went 1-for-4 with a  stolen base, two  RBI,  and a  double.  Jacob Morales was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Hoover's victory  ended  a  15-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-6. As for Orange Glen, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Tuesday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hoover has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 8.3  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Orange Glen struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8.2  per game. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Hoover might still be hurting after the  15-9 defeat they got from Orange Glen  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2022. Thankfully for Hoover,  Cameron Buck (who  went 3-for-5 with three  runs, three  doubles,  and four  RBI) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
