The El Toro Chargers can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mission Viejo 73-29 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-16.
El Toro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Cubacub out in front who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariana Mina, who scored 19 points.
Several Diablos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sofia Gozzo, who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Zoe Angustain, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
El Toro is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Mission Viejo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.
El Toro will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hills is on a seven-game streak of home wins, the Chargers a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Mission Viejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
