Moberly had won five straight at home, but  on Monday they bumped up to 8-5 to make it six. They had just enough and edged out the Mark Twain Tigers  2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Spartans have posted  since October 9, 2024.
As for Mark Twain, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record  this season. Having soared to a lofty 22  runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
 For Mark Twain's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ella Moss, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  run. Moss is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last three games she's  played.
