Notre Dame is 0-7 against Menlo School since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Notre Dame Regents will head out on the road to face off against the Menlo School Knights at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Notre Dame will be strutting in after a win while Menlo School will be coming in after a loss.
On Monday, Notre Dame didn't have too much trouble with Crystal Springs Uplands at home as they won 58-44. The win was just what Notre Dame needed coming off of a 58-37 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Menlo School struggled with assists on Friday (Pinewood had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Menlo School suffered a tough 66-43 defeat at the hands of Pinewood. While losing is never fun, Menlo School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Pinewood is ranked 28th).
Despite the defeat, Menlo School had strong showings from Karen Xin, who scored 22 points, and Ruiqi Liu, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Notre Dame's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Menlo School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.
Notre Dame lost to Menlo School on the road by a decisive 63-46 margin in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Liu, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Now that Notre Dame knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
