Fishburne Military is 1-9 against the Chiefs since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Fishburne Military's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Hargrave Military Academy 123-56. While losing is never fun, Fishburne Military can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Tigers are ranked 59th).
Meanwhile, Carlisle was able to grind out a solid win over the Gryphons on Tuesday, taking the game 81-70.
Carlisle found their leader in underclassman Trey Beamer, who scored 22 points. Beamer is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jameer Reynolds, who scored 17 points.
Fishburne Military dropped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Carlisle, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
