Baldwin extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-7. They lost 19-4 to the Treutlen Vikings. That's two games in a row now that the Braves have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Baldwin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Weston Goldsby, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That run was Goldsby's first of the season.
As for Treutlen, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.
On Treutlen's side, Jack Walker was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Walker has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Treutlen let Acie Dickens and CJ Jackson run wild. Dickens went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Jackson went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Dickens has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Lyles, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Looking ahead, Baldwin will host Harlem at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Treutlen, they will venture away from home to challenge Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
