Softball Recap: Omaha Central Has No Trouble Against Burke

Omaha Central never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Burke Bulldogs as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Omaha Central got a massive performance out of Ada Jantzen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Jantzen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Andrews, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Omaha Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory snapped Omaha Central's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-8 record. As for Burke, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Coming up, Omaha Central will take on Bryan in a tournament on Saturday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.63 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Burke, they will challenge Buena Vista at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs are facing the Bison at the right time seeing as the Bison are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
