Hayden is a perfect 10-0 against San Manuel since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lobos will challenge the Miners at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Hayden came out on top against Patagonia on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. Hayden put the hurt on Patagonia with a sharp 11-1 victory. Hayden might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Darren Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Hayden's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Smith was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Jonah Lopez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Marcos Oropeza, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Tyler Garner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Hayden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Patagonia only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, San Manuel waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Panthers.
Hayden now has a winning record of 5-4. As for San Manuel, their record is now 7-4.
Hayden beat San Manuel 9-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Lobos repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
