After a string of six wins, the Franklin Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 55-34 defeat at the hands of Harbor Creek. Franklin has struggled against Harbor Creek recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Jennifer Blum, who scored 11 points. The matchup was Blum's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Blum, who scored four points.
Franklin struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Franklin's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3. As for Harbor Creek, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Franklin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Erie at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Erie is ranked 169th, while Franklin is ranked 179th). Harbor Creek and McDowell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McDowell is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
