Even though the Parkway West HOYAS have not done well against String Theory recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. Parkway West had just enough and edged String Theory out  37-35. The  victory was all the more spectacular given Parkway West's disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings  (they are ranked 454th, while String Theory is ranked 214th).
  Nymira Bryant was  her usual excellent self,  scoring 22 points. The  matchup was  her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Kemba Brown, who  scored nine points.
 The  win was  the third in a row for Parkway West, bringing their record for this year to 3-4. As for String Theory, their loss  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 6-1.
 Parkway West will head out on the road to face off against Nueva Esperanza at 3:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for String Theory, they will look to defend their home court  on Wednesday against South Philadelphia at 3:15  p.m. South Philadelphia's defense has only allowed 16.8  points per game this season, so String Theory's offense will have their work cut out for String Theory.
