Baseball Game Preview: Central Valley Hawks vs. Grace Davis Spartans

For the second straight game, Central Valley will face off against Grace Davis. The Hawks will challenge the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Central Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Grace Davis on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-4 win. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Chris Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andre Flores, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Ezequiel Verduzco was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Central Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
