Lodi came out on top against Bloomfield on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Rams put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 13-6 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
Tobias Suarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Angel Alfaro was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Martinez, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Lodi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bloomfield only posted a batting average of .355.
The victory got Lyndhurst back to even at 14-14. As for Lodi, their win bumped their record up to 17-5-1.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lyndhurst has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Lodi struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
