Baseball Recap: Rancho Mirage Takes a Loss

Rancho Mirage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the La Quinta Blackhawks. If the Rattlers were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Blackhawks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rancho Mirage saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kobee Finnikin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Finnikin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Rancho Mirage's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for La Quinta, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5.

Looking ahead, La Quinta will challenge Rancho Mirage at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rancho Mirage 2.3, La Quinta 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Rancho Mirage will be paying especially close attention to La Quinta's game: after La Quinta faces off against Rancho Mirage, they'll take on Rancho Mirage again at 6:30 p.m.
